Trauma-informed money training for Canadian advisors
Procovo trains financial and helping professionals to work with the emotional and traumatic side of money. The courses are online, self-paced, and built for practitioners who meet clients in debt, insolvency, separation, bereavement and financial abuse — the moments where the numbers are the smallest part of the problem.
What Canadian practitioners get
- Recognise trauma and threat responses in a client meeting and slow the conversation down
- Work with financial shame, avoidance and non-disclosure without stepping outside your scope
- Understand economic abuse and coercive financial control in relationships
- Bring money psychology into planning, debt and insolvency conversations
- Certificate of completion with hours and learning outcomes for your CE record
Accreditation status in Canada
Procovo's courses are accredited in Australia by the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA), and our counselor course carries US CE credit. We do not currently hold Canadian accreditation with FP Canada, Advocis, CIRO, provincial insurance councils, the CCPA or any provincial college.
Many Canadian bodies accept self-reported continuing education from external providers where the learning is verifiable and relevant to your practice. Every Procovo course issues a certificate showing the title, learning outcomes and hours so you can submit it for consideration. Whether it is counted is your association's decision, not ours.

Who this is suitable for
Financial advisors and planners, credit and financial counsellors, licensed insolvency professionals, money coaches, social workers, and registered therapists and psychotherapists who work with money as a clinical theme.
The training does not confer a protected title, licence or registration in any Canadian province, and it is not a substitute for clinical training or supervision. It teaches you to work safely within your existing scope and to refer when a client needs therapeutic care.
Where to start
Financial professionals usually begin with Trauma & Money Foundations. Therapists and counsellors often start with the US CEU counselor course or a masterclass.
Canada frequently asked questions
Are Procovo courses accredited for CE credits in Canada?
Not yet. Procovo's courses are accredited in Australia (FAAA) and our counselor course carries US CE credit. We do not currently hold Canadian accreditation with FP Canada, Advocis, the IIROC/CIRO continuing education framework, provincial insurance councils or the CCPA. Many Canadian bodies allow self-reported external professional development that is relevant to your practice, subject to their approval. Check with your local association to apply accreditation, CPD or CE credits for any of the Procovo courses and trainings.
Can Canadian practitioners take the US CEU counselor course?
Yes, the course is open to Canadian practitioners and the clinical content applies across North America. The CE credit attached to it is issued under a US framework, so whether your Canadian college or association recognises it is a decision for them. Ask before you rely on it for a reporting cycle.
Is the content relevant to Canadian clients?
Yes. The training covers financial behavior, money psychology, trauma responses and conversation skills rather than product rules or tax law. Examples occasionally reference Australian context, but the frameworks transfer directly to Canadian practice, including work with debt, family breakdown, financial abuse and intergenerational financial harm.
Do the courses use Canadian spelling and terminology?
Course materials use Australian and British spelling in places (adviser, behaviour, counselling). The concepts and terminology map one to one onto Canadian usage — advisor, behavior, counselling — and no content depends on the spelling.
Who in Canada is this suited to?
Financial advisors and planners, financial counsellors and credit counsellors, insolvency and debt professionals, financial coaches, social workers, and registered therapists and psychotherapists who encounter money as a clinical theme.
